Frosty, Heidi & Frank on 790?

I noticed some people posting "congrats on the new job, KABC!" kind of posts on Heidi's Facebook page. Really? Anyone know anything more?

quick follow-up: on the KABC home page, there's a silhouette of woman with "She's back!" Could they just be hiring heidi as a fill-in or something?

I'm pretty sure it's true.
Check out the whole collection--it goes:

"SHE'S BACK"
"HE'S BACK"
"and HE'S BACK"

The silhouette for "HE'S BACK" looks like Frosty Stilwell to me.

KABC flipped out when Tim Conway Jr. filled in that brief week he was employed there.
I can't imagine FH&F's shtick will be tolerated very long at all.

Don't think they care about what FHF talk about...besides, anyone else see the "stain" on Heidi's jeans on the FHF/KABC page?

Look how far KABC has come, or should I say strayed. 9am to noon was once the domain of Michael Jackson, and now it's FH&F? Well no one else has done much with that shift since Jackson was dumped so why not throw more gas on the fire. Wonder how much KABC's audience will hate the triplets? I'm thinking a lot.

Existing audience, yeah, you're probably right. But if the aim stated with the hiring of Peter Tilden is to "young-up" the station with 25-54s then this is a move in the right direction. Whoever the current audience listening to KABC is, they don't amount to much and they can find similar fodder at a half a dozen other destinations on the dial.

It should be noted too that KLSX listeners tuning into AMP radio on Monday February 23rd weren't very receptive to the new format which has since gone on to be rather successful with a different, younger audience.

There are always people who are unhappy when what they've been listening to gets blown up. They leave and the fans of what's new take their place. That's just how it goes.

Congrats to Frosty Heidi and Frank on the new gig! Hope all goes well.

Of course Michael Jackson is fine Wedgewood and FHF are a Big Gulp Marge Simpson cup. But we all have to know that AM commercial radio will never be as high quality as when Michael Jackson was on the air. Besides FHF are good at what they do, albeit they have that Seinfeld way of spending a lot of time talking about nothing. But you have to know that KABC is taking a major step in the right direction by putting a live-and-local show on the air. How many more syndicated pantloads can we take who keep telling us that Obama was not born in the U.S.? Hannity/Levine/Limbaugh's shtick is old and so is their audience.

The real question is will KABC let the triplets do their show the way they want. KABC has to learn that they can't yank somebody off the air (ala Tim Conway) everytime an old biddie listener of theirs gets offended. KABC made the right move and hopefully this is the just the begining in bringing a younger audience to their channel. I certainly will be listening

With breaks for news and/or commercials every 8½ minutes brevity will be a huge hurdle for FHF.
The pace will be all off.

Absolutely right.

But in this case, the fans of what's new have to discover a whole new band...AM.

The problem here is 1. Tim Conway Jr. is 100X the talent of the triplets combined and he lasted only a few shows, and 2, the commercial on the KABC site on the FHF page, while it was done VERY well, but THEY are going to save radio? PAAAAHLEASE.

I am glad, however, that there will be some "hot" talk back on the air in LA...unless they try to be political, which would be possibly the worst radio ever.

I will listen, only because I miss KLSX so much and I will pray every day to the radio gods that Leykis is back on somewhere...soon.

....and Leo the Film Freak???

Sandy G: If you are praying to the radio gods that one-trick-pony Leykis will be back, and if you think Tim Conway is 100x the talent of FHF, then it is my opinion that you have no clue. Conway is OK but he has none of the strong listener connection or the rating history that FHF have.

Robnoxious is right about the commercial load weighing down FHF. That's too bad, really. Maybe KABC should rethink it's commercial load once FHF gets yup and running and charge more for spot for that time period.

VOR I like most of your takes .... but you are off base here. Please name a few of those "pantloads" who "keep" making that assertion? Because I have never heard any of them do it.... None.

How about Hannity, Limbaugh, Levine, Hedgecock. Their shows are all about hosting voices that have those views.
I think the introduction of FHF could bring a whole new audience to the dying AM band, just as Limbaugh did 20 years ago. FHF do not sound anything like the old hack format that has run its course except for those who are old or old at heart .

Exactly right. It's already a killer. i don't know how anyone gets anything going with breaks that short.
