"Frosty" on Talk 910 KKSF

Some guy who goes by "Frosty" is subbing for Gil Gross this week. He's actually in-studio but not taking any phone calls.

The difference between Gil Gross not taking calls and "Frosty" not taking calls is that Gil is entertaining without calls. "Frosty" is in the mold of every other ho-hum talkshow host; stating opinions and sitting back waiting for the fur to fly. This can't be good for Talk 910 KKSF. I'm not sure if he's going to be on next week, but if so, I'll just go listen to "All Things Considered" earlier instead of later.

They would have been better off keeping Rothmann...he's well known to Bay Area listeners and does very good radio.

Rothmann knows his stuff for sure. Politics.... and nothing but politics. I know some people love him and he's brilliant talking politics. But he's way too narrowly focused for my taste and I found him to be a complete bore as a talk show host. I frequently turned KGO and KKSF off when he was on.

I agree. In fact he's the running joke among talkshow hosts with the "When I worked for President Nixon", and "When I was an advisor to Richard Nixon"...uh, how old would he have been, 18, 19? I doubt Nixon would have paid much attention to Rothmann except maybe to ask him for another cup of coffee...

Excited to hear Frosty filling in for Gil Gross. He was very entertaining on KLSX before they blew it up to go Top 40. He's a breath of fresh air in my opinion. Nice to hear Talk that's NOT just angry, right-wing politics and from the viewpoint of someone who is actually in the 25-54 demo (well, I'm assuming...he's definitely younger than most Talk hosts).

I'm a seasoned talkradio listener and spent 2 years as a talkshow host myself. I have heard absolutely nothing interesting in Frosty. He sounds just like any other run of the mill journeyman talkshow host, interchangeable with anybody else. Gil is unique; he's a story teller, for one.
