Frosty?

The latest ratings just came out and this would be the first full month since Frosty rejoined Heidi & Frank on KLOS. So? What kind of spike did they get? And how did the Sound do in mornings in comparison? I'm curious.

It doesn't look like it made a difference. Basically KSWD is still tied with KLOS overall.

The main news should be KROQ with its 2.2 overall rating and the fact alt 98.7 is pounding them. ALT is over a 3 share and really handling KROQ well. If they continue to slide expect a format tweak with KROQ.

Mornings in 25-54 went 4.2 to 4.0 to 4.0, over the last three books, and 4.8 to 4.2 to 4.3 in 18-49. changes of up to about 0.4 in those demos would be more likely statistical wobble.

New month, new numbers. So, how is this morning show doing now that they've had a chance to settle in? Finally beating the sound? Closing in on Woody? Keeping KLOS afloat?

KLOS 25-54 mornings at lowest point since March. Overall, KSWD 15th, KLOS 21st in that demo.

Woody 7th and KLOS 13th in mornings.

Is it possible that you meant "KROQ 13th in mornings." since it was in comparison with Woody on KYSR?

Some interesting tidbits from Tom Taylor's column of 11/22/16 (all rankings age 6+):

KOST #1 in middays, Tied #1 afternoons, #1 weekends. Tied #3 in mornings (Ellen K)
KRTH, KBIG + KOST Tied #1 afternoons
KTWV #2 middays
KIIS #8 (!!!) mornings (I'm sure iHeart didn't have this type of result in mind when Ryan Seacrest's contract was recently extended; was Ellen K's move to KOST a factor?)
KFI Tied #3 mornings, #12 middays, #1 nights
KLOS Tied #20 mornings - David E posted the more pertinent demo figures in the previous post
KSWD #22 mornings - ditto above

Comparing the 25-54 to age 6+ data for KLOS versus KSWD, an assumption could be made that KLOS must have a substantial lead over KSWD in age 55+ to make up the difference
in ranking positions (#21 vs. #15 in 25-54 against #20 vs. #22 in age 6+).

Of course, when you assume.....certification needed. ;-)

No, I was comparing with KYSR vs. the KLOS show because the question of whether the folks at KLOS were costing Woody any listening. They aren't. 98.7 has been almost perfectly flat in mornings for siz or seven months now.

Good assumption about KLOS. They are a bit more top-heavy.

If KFi (an AM station) is #1 at night, #3 in morning and then plummets to 12 in mid-day (evening wasn't given) the combination is curious.

#3 in morning obviously reflects the morning commute and the mid-day drop the fact that people are using radio for background rather than actively listening in mid-day. Depending on the hours of "night" being #1 in a comparatively small listening pool may not be as great as it appears.

And yes, I did catch that all the Tom Taylor column numbers were 6+ and therefore meaningless for advertising demographics.
