FSN Chicago

What is FSN Chicago airing as they don't have the Cubs or White Sox this season? I would say the FSN National programs. The only local team FSN Chicago shows is the Chicago Rush. Other then that FSN Chicago has nothing much to offer. Another thing I am sure is that some advertisers left because of this and have moved over to Comcast Sports Net Chicago. They also have less viewers now because of cable companies dropping FSN Chicago.

So what I am just trying to ask is what does FSN Chicago have planned down the road? They sure can't stay alive like this. I would say they will fold soon. What do you guys think?

The funny thing is FSN Chicago has been off of DirecTV since January, and DirecTV and FOX are owned by News Corporation. But because it's not a FOX owned station they don't care, FSN Chicago is owned by the Sportschannel Group, they just license the FOX brand.

The reason it is still on Comcast systems is probably because FOX wants to introduce a TRUE NATIONAL SPORTS NETWORK LIKE ESPN. They want it up and running ASAP. NewsCorp probably made a deal to keep the local FSN's on Omcast's Basic Cable until they kick off the new network to replace it and that way the NEW FOX SPORTS NETWORK will slide right into those existing channels on the cable system without risking losing the position to something like the new Lifetime Real Women channel!
