FSR doesn't stream?

I was looking for the "Listen Live" gimmick on the Fox Sports web site, and couldn't find it?

Did I miss something?

If you weren't able to hear FSR, you didn't miss a thing, believe me.

But if you just have to hear it, several of their affiliates do stream, although coverage varies from affiliate to affiliate. Just Google for one in your part of the country.

Good question! I asked the same question myself on here several weeks ago.

I thought someone else on here posted a few days later that Fox Sports Radio was planning to re-do its' website over the next few weeks (and hopefully, would include a "Listen Live" link).

I think it makes business sense for them to do so - with so many people listening to radio over the internet while at work (8 hours or more a day) and/or at home (where no FSR affiliate exists) - every radio station and radio content provider should have a "Listen Live" link on their website to capitalize on this emerging phenomenon.

HELLO!!!!

Fox Sports Radio is 5 years old and doesn't have a web-site. If they didn't have a web-site when the probuct was good enough to listen to, while would Cheap Channel waste money on that sinking ship now?

web-sites and streaming cost money. The CC/Premiere shows they care about - Jim Drone and Rush Limberger have pay-for sites to hear that gibberish.

Some of the few affiliates still stream, but you have to look for it.

My question: WHY WASTE YOUR TIME?

v.e.w.'s question might sound flip, but I would seriously like to hear from those who are FSR fans. I can't imagine why anyone would be. On our local sports station, there's such a stark contrast between the really great local sports talk shows and the stuff FSR delivers. But I know everyone is different with different likes and dislikes, so I'm curious to know from those who enjoy FSR programming --- Why?? Are there certain shows on FSR that you make an effort to tune in, and why?

i have recently started listening to fsr....scott ferrall has a couple of weekend shows...im hoping he will get more as time goes on....but i have xm..so i don't have to depend upon streams.....i do think fsr should have a listen live on their new site...

I would have suggested XM, but you are already there. It is the best option, plus you are not subjected to local affiliate whimsey if you are really looking to listen to FSR. Plus, a particular show is off a bit, you can flip to ESPN Radio, ESPNews, Sporting News or much more.

The FoxSports/FoxSports Radio is such a goofy relationship you wouldn't know there is any affiliation at all by looking at foxsports.com.

I find myself listening to FSR less and less, especially as XM has added some additional content (Kessler's daily show on PGA Network, Tony Kornheiser on Extreme, and now the daily college football show on 191.) Takes care of most mornings.

The only FSR stops I make now are the Czabe Replay a few times a week and The (Revolving Door) Drive is in my afternoon rotation.

It's almost idiotic that any national network would be as backwards as FSR. But then again, look at who is in charge and where the network is heading. Sporting News has definitely made improvements. As irritable as Scott Wetzel may be, at least he gets you thinking about an issue. I keep anticipating the obituary on FSR. Remember the FSR 2K5 promotion. They have around 5 daily show segments and have made changes on 2 shows. That's a 40% change. FSR 2K5 promotions said it would change sports radio forever. The only thing it did was to show how incompetenet Andrew Ashwood is.

JT The Brick also has a "Listen Live" page on his website. They link to stations in Pittsburgh, SF, and San Antonio so it's not a direct link to a stream. I don't know if they work or not.

jetfli,

To answer your sincere question below:

I admit that I listen to FSR a couple times a week, but I listen to ESPN Radio and Sporting News Radio more often than I do FSR.

I wouldn't call myself an FSR fan, but rather more of a fan of sports talk (I'll listen to any of the major sports talk content providers - if the material is entertaining and informative).

I like "variety" in sports talk. After an hour of two of hearing the same sports talk host repeat his "one or two thoughts for the day" for like the 30th time that day - then I like to switch off to a different sports talk station and get a different point of view.

Steve Czaban - that's why. His show is the funniest thing left on the network. Plus Jorge Sedano when I can hear him at 2pm ET has more Miami takes than average. By 5am though the show devolves into a Cheech and Chong fest. Sedano used to do a local show before his CC affiliate ripped FSR and replaced it with AAR. The new FSR affiliate (non CC) picks him up from 2-5.
______________

Your best bet mow seems to be KTKR AM760 in San Antonio and KALL AM700 Salt Lake City - both CC owned stations.
______________

Actually CC has always been pretty good about adding streaming for their local stations. Why they haven't done it for the network is beyond me. To me that indicates how much they really have invested in the success of the network. At the very least - something like what JT has - a listing of all affiliates who are streaming. But I guess when you don't even have a website ...
______________
