Ft. McDowell Casino Newschopper?!?

On GMAZ, Bruce Haffner was up in the new Ft. McDowell Casino Newschopper. He gave thanks to the good poeple at Ft. McDowell Casion who "made this happen". He even had a cap that read "Ft. McDowell Casion Newschopper" (no surprise with the cap, very surprised with the blatant branding).

I guess that one benefit is that we can thank Ft. McDowell Casion that we don't have to listen to Bruce pretending to be a beat reporter anymore. :D He is now doing what he does best.

While I did not see the actual live footage I was able to see the link on KTAR's Twitter Window and checked out the story. I am surprised they put the money up for this chopper. Maybe the economy is really starting to turn around? LOL

I wonder what happens to their relationship with Helicopters Inc. and whether Tammy Rose and Scott Clifton will continue to provide news helicopter service for KTVK or they will now focus on KPHO & KPNX.

I may have to watch the news tonight and see if Bruce Haffner shows up on Good Evening Arizona.

Charlie.

I did not catch the whole segment, but Bruce was sitting in the back seat running all the TV equipment (because he was the only one who knew how)and someone else was flying the helicopter (Thursday morning). In the ongoing chit-chat between the studio and Bruce, something was mentioned about Bruce owning/leasing the chopper with Ft. McD. Casino providing financial assistance in its operation. That must be why they went with the lower priced Robinson helicopter vs. buying/leasing another Eurocopter AS350.

@MusicFan2009 -- They were pretty specific about the choppen supporting GMAZ. There is an article on azfamily.com that also seems to indicate that the chopper is for GMAZ only. If so, I would guess that the joint venture is still intact for the GEAZ and GNAZ...or, rather, 3TV News at 9. But this is all supposition based on what I've read...
