Yes, there was a MAJOR tropo opening over the past couple of days, and you were right in the heart of it. I'm a ham and was having a lot of fun at 144 MHz with it (Lots of FL, TX and even Mexico). From Memphis on FM, I did hear 104.1 from Mobile among others, en route to the gym.

I'm sure the 104.5 was Albany, GA.

Q107 was likely Florence, AL.

The others? There's not much to go on.

yesterday Destin and the panhandle were chewing up FM. Even in Desoto, MS county some of the Memphis signals were having big trouble.

And the day before Houston, TX was blasting in. The summer DX season is here.
I had lots of Signals on TV but could only decode KETS Little Rock and KTVE El Dorado/Monroe.

You're right, Michael...

Even out here in Germantown, I couldn't hear WHAL. I simply couldn't hear it. It was ALL Little Rock.

And, yeah, I guess it was Thursday morning that I was taking kids to school, I was listening to 96.5/Houston as if it were local. That one sort-of surprised me. I was expecting it to be KVKI/Shreveport.

Maybe another taste of all this in the next few days.

I think the 106.1 is from Grove Hill, AL.

I am getting some tropo here in northern VA last night, hearing Ben FM 95.7 from Philly, and other stations on the Delmarva Peninsula, Norfolk, VA area and NE NC. I heard WKJX 96.7 Elizabeth City, NC which recently dropped AC for hip hop/R&B.

The RDS from WVBW 92.9 from the Norfolk area displayed "WFOG" on my Sangean HDT-1; the call letters 92.9 used back in the 80s. I wonder if anyone in the Hampton Roads with an RDS-equipped radio sees the WFOG calls on its display...?? ???
