Wondered what everyone's take is on the book that comes out Friday in Ft. Wayne.

Any predictions?

Specifically:

1) #1 and remainder of top 5 12+
2) #1 and remainder of top 5 25-54
3) Biggest Gainer
4) Biggest Loser/Upset

Again, can we just have some fun and not take potshots at each other's indentities and/or pet stations...?

1) #1 and remainder of top 5 12+

#1 WQHK Country - Federated Media
#2 WLDE Oldies - Sarkes Tarzian
#3 WOWO News/Talk - Federated Media
#4 WJFX Rhythmic - Fort Wayne Broadcasting
#5 WBYR Rock - Federated Media

2) #1 and remainder of top 5 25-54

#1 WQHK Country - Federated Media
#2 WMEE Hot AC - Federated Media
#3 WOWO News/Talk - Federated Media
#4 WLDE Oldies - Sarkes Tarzian
#5 WBTU Country - Fort Wayne Broadcasting

3) Biggest Gainer

WVBB will probably go up, but WBTU, WLDE and WGL

4) Biggest Loser/Upset

WBYR (WXKE is gaining popularity)

Couple of questions...

Is Ft. Wayne back to being a 2-book market? When did that happen?

What has happened to WAJI? Did they go all Christmas music in Fall 06? If not, who did?

Overall #1 K105 (although I can't understand why COUNTRY!! always wins around here...

Biggest winner: WXKE
Biggest loser: WLDE

This market just plain sucks.

Why should it be a surprise?

Country wins in Indy.

Country wins in Fort Wayne.

Country is solid in South Bend.

Country wins because it is a format that has moved forward in the last 20 years.

We live in Indiana. Heavy farmland, heavy conservative area. Country should win in Indiana.

Fort Wayne was a two book market back when I was there from 1995 until 2003. I don't believe it has ever been a 4 book market but I could be wrong.

Wasn't it WMEE? (along with FW market rimshot WDFM, Defiance, OH)

WVBB will begin to do better because it fills a niche that can eventually swing to Urban AC at some point. If Artistic would have left it Top 40 or even Nostalgia and called it a day, it would of done better than where it was under Sunny.

WBTU while sometimes the "isms" are annoying as hell, its a really smart move. Russ knowns his stuff, and he isnt afraid to spend some money.

WLDE will probably slide in a few demo's but thats because of the overall format across the nation.

K105 will do okay, it always has done okay, but it might get a shocker in the ever so growing Country 18-34 as BTU will swing in that field and continue to gobble up their new listeners.

WJFX will have a good primarily due to the fact that Top 40 and Rhythmic stations continue to grow in the last couple of book all over.

Bear and 104 are going to battle it out. Its going to hurt WBYR a little bit, but dont be surprised to see WBYR to spend some money to try and get back to the top.

I think, instead, you might see WFWI (The Fort) knockin' knuckles with Rock 104. The formats are almost dead on identical but Bob and Tom leads The Fort into the day M-F and I bet that makes them tops, at least for the rocker set. I would think the Bear is still too modern and hard rock for most B&T fans if you axed them...
