full circle:

at the start of the decade,
believed maybe too much top 40 for toronto...[and area]
(hence, theories may be speculated to why) some stations...flipped
but . . . just too many options...esp. w/ the buffalo market so close.

now, nearly ..well, 8 years later, after energy leaves,
one station comes back, [kiss92]
and others ( ie: 'mix'/ and chum) whom would have never
'tweeked' to please the kids music at the start of the decade...
Now find them selves all playing the same...40? more like 15-20 songs...

with additions of pride103.9, energy105, a water-downed flow93/5, and even
101.1 ,ckey(at the start of the 2000s was...a/c,the river),
. . . and to an extent in the middle of the decade, "rock" /edge 102,
playing the bigger names in the chr-playlist ( jay-z,all be it(however u spell that term : )
that song was w/ linkin park, but they did touch emimen, outkast's hey ya...
and the traffic bed is a top40 hit, naturally w/out the lyrics..

now with the elimination of country, is there a void, and/or over-saturation
of a certain format ? this was originally geared toward the surplus of chr,
but thinking about it, the classic hits/classic format for the 'region'
now has...91.7, 95.3 the ____?, the mighty q, and y108...
(trading a jack for top 40).

seems like a very selfish radio dial serving toronto/niagara region....
either this or that. (current hits, classic hits)...

They're not doing it to (just) please the kids.
More the in thing to be "Soccer mom" radio.

Country 95.3 wasn't licenced to be a Toronto station anyway, so it's very easy to guess that Hamilton's Wave 94.7 could wave good bye to their low ratings and say hello to Country.

The signal is very poor in Toronto though, so who knows if a station there has any desire to go Country. ???
