Full Power Radio buys translator in Montville

Radio Insight reports Full Power Radio has purchased translator W277CE 103.3 Montville for $25,000 from Connecticut Christian Radio Outreach. Reportedly it will be used for one of 106.5 WBMW's HD sub channels.


Observation

WBMW's HD Sub Channels are currently as follows:

106.5 HD2 - Country also on 99.5
106.5 HD3 - Kool Radio simulcast of WSKP 1180 Hope Valley, RI. Also on 104.3 Hope Valley.
106.5 HD4 - Bomba. Also on 104.5

Just my opinion, but I think they would dump the Kool Radio simulcast from 106.5 HD3 and put something new on it.

What logic makes you say that.. why should they dump it and what should they put on it instead?

Maybe put WJJF 94.9 on 106.5 HD3 and put that on the new 103.3 translator.

Or move Bomba (106.5 HD4) from 104.5 to 103.3 and put Kool Radio (106.5 HD3) on 104.5 and tweak the signal so you'll have Kool Radio on 104.3 (Hope Valley) and 104.5 (New London).

Without giving it too much thought, that seems like it may actually be a decent idea

Ohh.. maybe fuller will find a way to put the urban format from 102.5/1470 on the 103.3 translator. He'd have to free up an HD channel for that.... and as much as i like country music.............
 
Remember that there's a new allotment on 103.3 in Long Island (Shelter Island) that was won by the owners of WLNG. That will destroy any decent coverage of the translator. Likely purchased the translator to move it somewhere else.
