Fun 101.3 sold

Hall selling Fun 101.3 for 1.7 million to Education Foundation a non profit Christain organization that also bought WTPA 92.1 four years ago. They are repeating same broadcast as 92.1. So now Halls footprint here in central PA is 92.7, 92.1, 1490. None of those 3 really get above a one share. What a shame. I feel bad for all the fun crew losing there jobs. REST IN PEACE Fun 101.3, Ill miss you guys

I read the staff are getting let go, so I guess Fun will be gone (not moving to 92.7). At least the area has WARM 103, and the Happy(s) to a lesser degree.

Or they'll make it Bigfoot or Froggy Country. Forever loves country and classic country. Such a waste of signals at times with all these simulcasts.

Yet their Froggy signals are often the highest rated or nearly highest rated in the markets theyre in.. and bigfoot does well too

With 107.7 and 100.1 as country, I would think if Forever were to flip 92.7 to country it would be classic country. A lot of their classic country stations go by the branding "Willie".

That said, hopefully they swap 92.7 to AC or alternative rock to fill either the void left by 101.3 or 99.3. Though I can't see Forever EVER operating an alt rock station. They don't currently.

Also, I wonder if they'll keep the same thing on 92.7/92.5/1490? As a first adjacent, 92.5 interferes with 92.7 in Lancaster, so if not airing the same thing it is cutting into 92.7's coverage area. Unless they try to get permission to move 92.5 to a different frequency... 99.1 looks open.

I agree with you totally,I would love to know whos idea it was to put 92.7 and 92.5 togher in the first place. It sounds really bad around the city.

I was driving down Manheim pike and saw a add on billboard for Fun 101. If the station is to be sold and changing formats, why would they spend more money on advertising?

Maybe the ad has been up for awhile and they signed a long lease for that billboard?

Looks like 101.3's HD radio signal is off. Was able to get station ID's on 101.1 Washington, D.C. (DC101) and 101.1 State College (Big Froggy) driving near Mechanicsburg this evening. I imagine these normally would have been wiped out by 101.3's HD sidebands.

I don’t recall EMF ever turning DC’s 107.3 HD signal off. Maybe they dropped subchannels temporarily before adding their own, but generally their HD signals will carry Air1 or another channel of theirs (Spanish language CCM or CCM “oldies”).

When boards are not sold, it's common to leave the "paper" or paint on the board until a new client appears.

Oh yes, I fully expect K-Love to bring HD back on 101.3. In Pittsburgh they feed translators with their 98.3 HD2 and HD3.
