Funeral Arrangements for John McCarty

I just got off the phone with Matt, and wanted me to pass along the information for arrangements for John McCarty.

The visitation will be Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home - located on Hwy 26 (Colleyville Blvd) at Hall Johnson Rd. (northeast corner... sorry... I'm a traffic reporter)

The funeral will be on Friday morning at 11 am at Hurst Christian Church located on Brown Trail, just south of Pipeline Rd... the graveside services will follow at Bluebonnet Hills.

I know he would want you all to be there, and I look forward to seeing as many as can attend.

Matt is holding up much better than I would be in the same situation... but I knew he would... he is a great person... the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

Thanks,

Monty Cook

See, John's still thinking of us even now...timed it between morning and afternoon rush hour, and after the May sweeps. (Of course, he'd give that statement one of his "wow's" along with that infectious laugh.)

It's really starting to sink in today. Yesterday was shock. Today it's becoming a very sad reality. It's really been a rough one. :'(

Thanks to each and all for your condolences. We've gotten many emails at Traffic.com, and I've received about 40 back from folks I emailed that knew John. We'll make sure the family gets to read all of them. The email address at the office is [email protected].

Channel 8 did a nice tribute to John this morning at the end of "News 8 Daybreak," and the Star-Telegram's doing a feature obit, which should come out in Thursday's paper.

I realize this is a repeat of some of the info Monty gave and the Startlegram obit gives, but I've got specifics on addresses and such, should you need more info, want to send flowers or send cards. This is the same email I sent out this morning to folks that John worked with over the years:

Feel free to forward this information to any others

I JUST found out about John. I wish I had checked these boards earlier. John was such a great guy and a great boss. I am going to miss him something awful. :(
