Funny 570

I was listening to the station this morning. I found it to be rather funny! (no pun intended). I think if Mr. Curtis would do some advertising in reference to his AM stations, more folks may check them out. I have seen no advertising for 850-AM, 570-AM (maybe still to early) and very little for 680-AM.

Maybe I do not want to let go of the past, but I like AM radio. I think this may be a great time for AM stations to find their own niche on the dial. Whether it is Comedy, All News, Local Music, All Request All The Time..etc, this maybe a good time to reinvent the past. (if possible)

WTAR-AM in Norfolk is doing respectably well with over a 2.0 in the last Arbitrend. http://funny850.com/

I, too, like your ideas. I think the idea of free-form or underground music would be a great option for a struggling AM. I like the idea of classic country, perhaps mixed with bluegrass or maybe even folk. There is a local-music alternative station just outside Portland Oregon (KKSN) which has been on for almost two years now. http://www.947.fm/ (go to the "94/7, too" link near the bottom of the page on the right.).

I suppose it would be too much to hope for something like I heard yesterday.

I was driving home from visiting my aunt and "A Prairie Home Companion" was delivering "Hee Haw" type humor by the truckload. It was great.

570 is funny. Wow. I really laughed, a lot!
It is way better than the Sirius channel. Check it out.

What's ironic is that 570 was knocked off the air by a funnel cloud, and was reborn as WFNL.
