Funny Thing About Beaumont's K277AG

Given the demographics, I was surprised CC flipped 104.5 from MIX to Kiss trying to compete with 94.1 (which ironically was KLVI's FM originally). They drove a lot of listeners away from the 104.5 signal with that. Former Channel 4 news anchor Bob Buckalew (who has been in Austin for a good while) mentioned on his Facebook page that he is helping "someone" with a "new radio station" in the "Beaumont Mid County and Port Arthur" area....(notice he didn't mention Orange)...I hope it's not someone trying to do a music format on KOLE or 1300 and doubt its 103.3 since CC owns that..not sure if he was referring to Walton's 105.3 but the format there is already all over the road and with W&J on live in the morning and then replay in the afternoon, I suspect it will burn out soon

I don't get what they're doing with 105.3. W&J are not on live in the morning, always delayed a day or two. What's the point of that?

Of all the options, I always thought that mono signal would be better suited to talk, even a relay of AM 560... Community talk has worked well for the Breeze (lpfm)...

Yeah, it got them (the Breeze) kicked out of their city studios and also cost them the Pioneer Park water tower location they had on 107.1...but then there is not much in Port Arthur worth a broadcast station...the only two full power FMs are rimshots to Houston and donot program for PA at all....(then again, neither does KBTV since they abandoned PA! other than the refineries, there is nothing in PA worth a cr*p)

103.3 can run stereo..it did when it was a fill in translator for 104.5's main signal..
