Funny With an F

:'(

Sad day indeed.
He had a lot to do with the development of my sense of humor.
I remember sneaking my older brother's copy of "Toledo Window Box" into my room and trying to listen and laugh quietly.
Through well known bits like the seven words, the hippie dippy weatherman and so many others, he will live on.
He will be missed, though.

Carlin led many of us astray into the fields of broadcasting, for which we are all variously thankful. Through the sharp edges he honed on the many blades he hurled into our collective unconscious, I suppose I most loved his "Stuff" monologue...particularly as I've grown older and now wonder the where and why of stuff my family has accululated. George was always spot on with his remarks...and a dandy little actor in quite a few films as well. Indeed, he will be missed.

If you read the Commercial Appeal article, you will find that he worked at several different radio stations early in his career.

That is corrct There was an inteview with the pd he worked for in 1959 here in Ft Worth
Said he wasi a quiet guy and totally unlike his on stage persona
Truly he was one of the gretas in comedy!

We have indeed lost a unique voice at a time when we probably need it the most. Nobody looked at the world the way Carlin did and still made you laugh and think at the same time. Rest in peace, we will miss you George.
