Furman in the Mornings

Finally...local sports in the morning...live and local...7-9am with Andy Furman...live on Fountain Square at Graeter's...This morning he had Terry Nelson and Kentucky Speedway GM, Mark Simindinger....catch it...he still has it...even at that weird hour.

This is a wonderful endorsement. Thanks.

I am a morning guy, i would do a lousy job at 5 PM.
Looks like Andy is really strong, night or day.

Firing Furman was the beginning of the end for WLW. Mo can't complete a thought without "uhhh" and/or stuttering all over himself. He has no contacts in the business so he rarely gets decent guests. Lance has mainstreamed his show and it's become a generic version what he used to do on 1360. Amazon is a cartoon.

I like Furman as well as anyone, but...uhh...WLW is still doing just fine. Number one station in the market with no signs of stopping, especially with the Reds starting in another month.

In Pittsburgh, they used to say that you could put kangaroos passing wind in morning drive on KDKA and it would still get a 10 share (they proved that when they put John Cigna in mornings). WLW's name, signal and heritage will get them numbers no matter who or what they put on the air for many years to come. That doesn't mean that it's good radio. Furman stands with some of the best ever in sports radio and could stand with anyone in NYC or on ESPN any day.

There are recent reports out there that show how hard it is to change listening habits.
