Furman is Back

I saw Andy Furman's mug on WDJO's web page today. He's got a 5 minute segment M-F @ 7:55 AM.

Has anyone heard it?

I haven't. But given that the powers-that-be at WLW seem to be so encouraging of shock-talk (ie, daytime topics about male enhancement) its really strange that Andy isn't back on their frequency.

Major is his face still on there? I thought Furman was actually Scott Sloan??

Nah baby nah. Guess he's gone from WDJO. That didn't take long. Heard him on Cunningham's stooge report today; is he going to make an attempt to return to WLW?

Wonder how long it will take for Overbeck to bail? My guess is as soon as the east side advertisers he brought with him realize none of their customers can can pick up the signal.

Wow! I remember a time that CC wouldn't even let Randy be on the mighty WLW airwaves. What's changed?? Are they rethinking their replacement(s) for Burbank? What are the ratings like in the post-Garrish period? Will Furman be back 3-6 on the Big One?

Bobo...I disagree with your assessment of the WDJO signal here on the east side, at least during the day. It's very loud and very clear well into Clermont County and all the way up I-71 to Wilmington. Nighttime is another story.

When I said east side, I was referring to east of 75 within 275. Milford, Oakley, Anderson, all those communities Steve does
"Hi, this is Steve Overbeck" ads for. The signal comes and goes depending on where you are, but you can't count on it. Far east and north, it comes in fine. I don't know why they don't sell advertising out there.

Anybody know what happened with Furman?

Sorry Bobo...gotta disagree with you still. I made a lot of calls on the east side of the city in my time and never had much trouble with 1160. I listened when it was BOB as sports and talk and now once in a while. It didn't like power lines, but neither do any of the other AM stations. Never really noticed that it was any worse than the others.

Your car must have a better radio than my last two. Even so, we'll see how Steve's show fares versus his time on KRC. Is he the kind of guy who will hang in there with WDJO "for the love of radio" or expect actual results? Promises were made, as I recall.

Still no word on the circumstances of Furman's departure. Did he get too busy with the car dealership work?

If you will review, you'll see that I'm the one who asked the question in the first place. Obviously, I do.
