Hi,

KFI down - maybe they had better get to work soon on the replacement tower.

KMZT beats KFWB - KFWB might want to turn the Dodgers in for the Mets - Metropolitan Opera that is.

KOLA on the chart but KSRF isn't - Maybe Saul switiched KSRF from oldies a little too soon. But then KOLA going to a later sound hasn't hurt.

XTRA up, KLAC down - not counting confusion on which station is which - maybe Saul does have the right idea on standards.

KFI is well within its 2-year range. News talk is pretty cyclical, depending on what is and isn't in the news.

The tower has nothing to do with it. 25 kw on 640 gives just as usable metro coverage as 50, even with the short tower (they say everything is on track to replace the tower... maybe 6 to 9 months).

KFI is actually up in Riverside from before the fall. It's still the best signal in LA with the current operation.

KFI, along with most talk stations in America, were/are expected to be down this book. There were no new major "hot button" issues.

The upcoming (September) Senate confirmation hearings for future Supreme Court Associate Justice John Roberts and the California November special election should help KFI and other localized talkradio stations in California as they enter the fall book.

KNX is the station that really should be pointed out for their piss poor ratings. Yes, there were not many major news stories out there but David G. Hall has let this once credible news source for Southern California become an embarrassment in Los Angeles radio. He needs to be fired NOW.

KJLH should also be mentioned for their continued slide in the ratings. With the continuing ethnic population shift in Los Angeles, the day will come in the not too distant future when Los Angeles will only be able to support one radio station that targets the black audience.

KDAY. Peaked and over. Styles should bail before they have to pay for this turkey.

This is the kind of turn-around situation that Russ Oasis loves.

AMEN! I do not know where people got thier idea that DGH was a programming genius, but he was lucky at KFI....Limbaugh came along at the right time. Every fear we old KNX-er's had when DGH took over has come true. Give this thing back to George Nickalaw and bring back the old KNX!
