Fury vs Wilder co ESPN Fox production?

What is the reason to have both networks promoting the fight? Is it to raise the purse cost or just for more promotion? How many times has this happened where both networks will go in on a PPV.

Each fighter has his own network:

On December 27, 2019, due to the fighters' respective television rights being held by the two networks, it was announced that the United States pay-per-view of the fight would be a joint production of ESPN (Top Rank rightsholder) and Fox Sports (PBC rightsholder).

I was watching the preliminary bouts on FS1 and thought it was strange that the announcers kept mentioning ESPN by name when talking about certain boxers' previous televised fights. Guess that's why. I also found it interesting that the next morning, I checked out YouTube and found quite a few full videos of the main event posted. Normally, big PPV main events are removed within minutes if posted without the permission of the copyright holders. I didn't buy the PPV or stay up to try to find a streaming site for Fury-Wilder, so being able to watch the fight at 7 a.m. so easily was a pleasant surprise.
