Future News Flash? Could we see this sometime in the next year?

Today it was announced that Bonneville Broadcasting has purchased the CBS Radio Stations located in Sacramento, CA. For an undisclosed price. A Bonneville representative said no changes are planned at the Sacramento cluster of stations and that no people will be layed off!

That would be nice. They treat their people well.

Doubtful...but hopeful it'll happen...
As Dustin Hoffman said in "Marathon Man," 'maybe, but I COULD be WRONG!'

Bonneville unloaded its SFO properties via the Entercom trade with
Seattle, and Bonneville has only one L.A. property that is not doing
well in its initial going...must be a reason they're keeping a much-lower
profile in "The Golden State"...

I think it would be stupid if they changed KSFM. The station has pretty good ratings!

Okay...show of hands: How many of you read the first of this thread and took it as something that has ACTUALLY HAPPENED?

Hmmm....thought so. For the record -- and at least as of this moment -- it has not happened yet.

thats funny that's exactly what cbs said when they bought live 105 in SF.. from entercom. a year to the day every department head except music dir, and every jock except for aft drive jock was let go.
... they always say that.
just be warned, anything is possible...

The staff at the CBS building had a meeting last week and were told it was happening by the bigwigs, and were told to carry on with business as usual

Uh huh. Right.

Carry on...business as usual...in other words, "Keep the place going for us until we turn all your lives upside down by bouncing your @$$e$ out and find people to do your jobs for half of what we're wasting on er, uh, paying you."

If I had a dime for every time I heard that line 'o' corporate crap, I wouldn't have a mortgage.

The EDD oughta thank corporate radio for giving it something to do.

True, we all know that's a bull**** thing to say, but if you think about it, it IS true. Until any sale is final, of course they want station business running like normal to keep that income flowing. Afterwards you KNOW there are going to be changes
