Future of Audience Network?

With everything going streaming what's the future of this channel? AT&T now have various other platforms to broadcast content. All it really has going for it is Mr Mercedes. It is also only available to U Verse/Directv. It will hardly last much longer. Mr Mercedes will probably move to HBO Max. Any new content planned for this channel?

They have lots of sports on Audience still.

Audience is to transition to a HBO Max Preview Channel.
So is the actual name 'HBO Max Preview Channel? What will it show? Just an episode or two of HBO Max original series on a loop?

What the hell is hbo max like a separate channel or some kind of app. That is ridiculous they had sports and could have sworn they had contracts to air certain teams on it periodically. That is a stupid move dropping the channel in was in at least 50 million homes I believe.

HBO Max is AT&T's version of Netflix and Disney Plus.

As far as I know, Audience was/is only on DirecTV.

Not for long. Dan Patrick has mentioned on his radio show that he's now a "TV free agent," although his show is still on Audience for the time being.

Hmmm, so he only had a 2 year deal? Or 1+1?

He's in the same boat with Rich Eisen, who is also departing soon.

I think they pulled the plug on Audience after the deals were signed. Why would DP build out a brand new studio if they were going to pull the plug in a year.

if I'm running the WarnerMedia/Turner Networks side of things, I would find a way to have the Dan Patrick & Rich Eisen radio show be broadcast on TV on either TNT, TBS or TruTV or even HLN under a HLN Sports special.

cause losing the TV rights of these shows to FS1 and NBCSN would be bad.

I doubt NBCSN would bring back DP. Since they cut ties with the show last year. FS2 seems viable. They need content.

Here is another reason

WarnerMedia has dramatically shifted its balance for commissioning content away from its cable networks and toward its streaming services like HBO Max.

According to Ampere Analysis, just over one quarter of WarnerMedia’s commissioning activity was from its cable networks, down from more than 90% in the fourth quarter of 2018. At the same time, the company’s streaming has grown from 7% of commissions in the fourth quarter of 2018 to 73% in the fourth quarter of 2019.

“Warner’s pivot towards an increasingly HBO Max-first approach to commissioning is not only apparent in the number of new projects in development, but also in the types of content being commissioned. Warner’s cable properties commissioned only four Sci-Fi & Fantasy titles in 2019, all at HBO, while its streaming properties greenlit 12. This is the clearest sign yet that the home of the juggernaut ‘Game of Thrones’ will in the future play second fiddle to HBO Max when it comes to some of Warner’s highest-profile genre commissions,” said Fred Black, analyst at Ampere Analysis, in a statement.
