Future of Colbert's Late Show?

Damaged goods. Corden has proven that you CAN develop something new from scratch and have success.
I don't think Conan is damaged goods. They just need to get him off TBS (which is more of A SITCOM network than a network for shows like Conan, which Comedy Central is supposed to be for)

JMO.....

Cheers & 73 :)

If Conan leaves TBS, his only likely option would be an Internet only broadcast. He's not coming back to network television.

you forgot about Comedy Central, CC would try to hire Conan the moment he leaves TBS and not to mention, CC just canceled the Nightly Show for poor rating and The Daily Show is struggling now in a post-Jon Stewart era with Trevor Noah. and i think @Midnight could stay even if Conan was to join Comedy Central.

But wait with Trevor Noah he has to compete against other Ex- Daily Show people from the Jon Stewart era. Note Stephen Colbert was a former co-star of the Daily show when it was run by Craig Kilborn and the first years of the Stewart era.

Under Trevor Noah he has been gaining audiences recently right after the party convention. 2 Noah's and his staff have to go on the latest troll statements/actions by pundits, politicians, lobbyists and superpacs at this time and attract younger audiences in the process.

Noah is not like John Oliver from Last week tonight where he has the luxury to discuss the latest topics investigative journalist are discussing.

If (and it's a huge IF) CC were to go to a traditional late night talk show it would not hire anyone currently doing such a show. They would develop one they owned completely from the ground up. There are enough hungry young comedians out there they could tap to host the show. They would not pick up Coco.
