Future of Hispanic Radio

Not only have I read that many Hispanics are returning to their countries due to the poor economy here, but I'm actually seeing evidence of it in stores, etc. That leaves me wondering about the future of stations like La Preciosa and Que Pasa. I would think that a lot of their listeners are going away. Hispanics who are really committed to staying in the US will most likely learn to speak English and many of them do that by listening to English speaking radio and TV. If I'm not mistaken, I think WGBT was down in this book. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

;D Isn't that the site off I-85 Business in High Point that was a trailer that had chickens running around in it..I think a guy with an adams apple the size of a cocoanut named John Brewer used to work there!! Squawk...Swawk..Brrrrr

The old WGOS site still exsists, showing it's english progrmaming...
That's the problem with the Internet. Abandoned sites that have been paid in full and have years on them.

There are lots of them out there.

Actually the issue is that Arbitron changed the way to survey areas where hispanics live. There are 14 markets which aren't considered HDHA under Arbitron. Greensboro is one of those who changed since the Spring book 2008. The economy is hurting everybody, even the hispanics. IMHO even that there might be less jobs available for hispanics, still for most living in the USA is better that where they came from. That is the original reason on why most of them came here.
