Future of linear cable channels?

But, you stated "This is the case for many cable channels regardless of the time of the year."
In that most cable channels aren't debuting new programming year round.
So, are you saying you don't have any examples?
Personally, I don't have cable, but do watch most of the streaming channels via YouTube TV which carry most of the same channels that are still on traditional cable. Seems like the same news channels are doing new content daily, especially around elections. I saw a promo for Cartoon Network announcing the new season of something that I'll never watch, but it's new.

So then if you admittedly never watch, why do you care?? You should do the research yourself, and maybe you'll learn something.

I don't care one iota for the Olympics. I've seen some of Snoop Dogg's work and that's about it, and he's great at what he's doing. But i have no opinion of NBC's overall coverage because I'm not invested. So I'm not contributing to any of those threads if I have nothing to offer.

Perhaps you should consider doing the same, because you're coming off as a bully and a badgering jerk. Like I said, chill out.

How is asking you to back up your observations with examples considered being a bully? If you can't back up your claims or observations, then why not just admit it? Just because someone challenges your claim that is likely factually incorrect, doesn't make them a bully. And just to point out another fact; so far, you're the one engaged in name calling, not me.
And come on, how am I going to "learn something" when you aren't even able to site examples of what you claim about cable TV programming in general? So far all I've 'learned', not surprisingly, is that you made a claim that's simply not true.

People have been complaining about MTV airing nothing but "Ridiculousness" way before summer started. The stagnation of linear cable TV is not a seasonal thing.

In the 2010s, AMC and FX were the kings of scripted cable TV. Since then, Disney has moved the best FX originals to Hulu, and AMC is really struggling to survive as an independent company, ever since the end of "Better Call Saul."

Remember when Conan O'Brien's move to TBS was going to reinvent the way people watch late-night TV? Now, he's pivoted himself to podcasting, a FAST channel which is only available on newer Samsung smart TVs, and Max.
 
Also, regarding Conan: the Samsung deal is really limiting his ability for people to access his FAST channel. Is Samsung that nearsighted that they would allow The Roku Channel on their TVs, but not Samsung TV+ on Roku TVs/streamers?

As moderator, I did not see this until your response had generated a variety of follow-ups. That comment is inappropriate. You are not a moderator so please don't make this kind of offensive remark or your posts will be deleted... as this one should have been were it seen earlier.

Note: Kelly noted that he watched essentially the same channels on a streaming service, so your response was based on mis.reading his answer.

And I would argue much of that was due to the long writers strike. Reality and game shows filled most of the network and cable prime. Then there is/was the delay from when the strike ended to when shows began production again.
Even some of my favorite streaming shows like Severance and Silo next seasons have been delayed by almost two years because of the strike and time it takes to ramp up. Even after production is done, then it's off to post production (editing). There are only so many post houses in the U.S. with trusted editors and they're REALLY busy.

Also Olympics on for 2 weeks so like America's Got Talent off the air for awile.

AGT is an NBCU Network show, so being replaced by Olympics coverage makes sense. What the complaint seems to be relates to specifically cable channels not delivering new shows during the Summer.

Some might but might be shows that are cancelled and showing remaining exipsodes.
