On top of it being the end of URBNO, WWL has announced a new schedule of what they will air.

WTKL 105.3 and WSMB 1350 in the interim will still rebroadcast WWL-am with 104.1 as you all know by now returning to black gospel as Hallelujah 104.1....

Here is the WWL schedule:
Bob DelGiorno 5-9 am
John "Spud" McConnell 9-11 am
Bob Mitchell and Vince Marinello (Kool morning crew) 11 am- 2 pm
Garland Robinette 2-5 pm
Deke Bellavia 5-9 pm
sports talk 9 pm-midnight
syndicated programming overnight (Not said what it is, but probably coast to coast again)

It is also said in the article that 95.7 and 105.3 flipped frequencies due to getting Walton and Johnson back on a full power signal and that 105.3 will be oldies "after some time"

Rush is missing from the current lineup with them "playing it by ear" for when Rush will return.

But read the article for the whole scoop

Re: Future of URBNO and New WWL schedule

At least WWL has it right.... local, local, local. While NO is being re-populated and people want things to return to normal, there is still a need for a live, local station. There are lots of issues people want to talk about and to vent about. It will be interesting to see if Rush returns on one of the simulcast stations before he returns to WWL.

According to the story, Rush would return on a possible nighttime slot first but "there is no timetable for his restoration to WWL's schedule".

WWL is being rebroadcast on WSMB 1350 and WTKL 105.3 right now. I'm just wondering what's going to be the time frame in restoring those two back to Air America talk and Oldies respectively.

With the morning wakeup crew from WTKL taking over the midday spot on WWL, I'd say it's gonna be at least a month if not a few months (or at least till they get back to NOLA) till they are back on the air.

I will miss listening to the local talk in overnights. Good grief, coast to
coast is on just about every other AM frequency.

I wonder if Rush being critical to New Orleans and its survivors post-Katrina had anything to do with it. If so, Rush might have lost an affiliate.

I think they were close to dropping him before Katrina hit; there was even a thread here about it a few months ago. They had already dropped almost all their other national talk shows, and their ratings were in the toilet. They probably can't afford his show either way right now.

He had a caller last month who said he was hearing him in NO, and I wondered how. I figured he was getting it from BR or the MS coast.

Must have been MS Coast or he could have been listening on the internet stream. I have almost been tempted to join Rush 24/7 because in the triparish area you can not pick up Rush unless you have some serious hardware because WJBO is uncatch able and 1640 is a tough pull. Back when 1640 was 570 it was a little easier to pick him up there.

I want my Limbaugh back.

I never tried JBO in New Orleans, but in the triparish area it is unlistenable.

And I thought that at one point Rush did not allow individual stations stream his show back in all the confusion about 'internet streaming rights'. But that may have changed as Clear Channel who owns JBO and Rush's syndication comapny has embraced streaming.

WJBO is hearable in Thibodaux, but WIBR comes in better here anyway BUT only during the daytime... after about 5pm they are gone...

No good new for rush fans but on the coast to coast question, they are on WOAI from San Antonio which is a blowtorch clear channel on 1200 at night around NOLA
