Holy Mother, US 93 took a tumble! I guess the curiosity factor is over, or people are sick of politics. Or both. Magic beat MEE? ZOINKS What happened there? Lotsa shakin going on this time around!

Ah, commercials, yes. It was hard enough to sit through that commercial free crap!

One question for those who know - Where the hell did all of the 12-34's go?

BYR down .7
JFX down 1.6
NHT flat

If you look at how these 3 performed say 1 1/2-3 years ago you will see a huge 12+ decline.... Are they all at Fort,Rock or at country?

I just looked up the 12+ from the previous 2 books

BYR - down 1.4
JFX - down 2.7
NHT - down 1.0
Country seems to be a wash and MEE is down a bit too... Did all the kids go to (gasp) Majic or Russ' Vibe?

When I was in Fort Wayne, I think the last book I was there was a heavy older rock and talk book. It's in cycles... happens in most medium and small markets. Some books are heavy with older people, some with younger. This is just part of the cycle. Regardless of the reason, I'm glad to see Doc West and the crew at Rock 104 heading up! If there's a bunch that truly deserves it, it's those guys. I wish my guys at WNHT could have done better. I really wish we could have gotten that station going in a good direction while I was there. 'tis radio.

WJFX teen loss screams of weird book. Majic changed imaging to drop 80's to make it 90's and now, so it's possible they attracted a younger audience. 80's music is starting to become Mom's music. But that's still a quite a shocking teen gain for a station that airs John Tesh. If that's what happened, MEE could have gone up in teens as a side effect. Did the moms' move to MEE for the 80's?

I've listened to Trina's Midday show...some great music, and I consider myself a headbanger.

But I'd say folks that this market is TIRED. Tired of the same ol' shit, tired of the same "win this grill, win this trip, listen to us tomorrow to find out how" Zeroxed from 5 years ago junk that's on the air. Somebody get the Hoover and sweep this crap off my radio eh??

Really I'm glad for Rock 104, but here's my question: Why can't a station with a format like WRSW from Warsaw (good rock mix: 70's and 80's AOR and a good mix of current thrown in) cut it just up the road in Fort Wayne?? I find myself on 107.3 more than the Fort Wayne rockers anymore...

It doesn't have a good enough signal.

I've worked in Warsaw (2 years) and I worked in Fort Wayne (9 years) and WRSW just doesn't have the same coverage and talent as Fort Wayne stations.

AMEN! Problem is PD's don't allow creativity anymore. By the time you get in all the "required elements" and mention all the crap they want you to say, you've got maybe one minute to be creative, if you're lucky. And you'd better shine in that minute, or they'll tell you later how you should have done it. Then when the numbers are down, who's fault is it? Yours. They pull the strings, but they blame the puppets when the audience doesn't clap. Then they sit around and grumble about not being able to find talent that can stand apart from the crowd, and they can't figure out why everyone sounds the same. I'd take less money to work at a station that just let the jocks cut loose and have fun.

The market is lacking a full out CHR. Nothing like AMP's version of B106..or Summit's version of Hot 96/94. What needs to happen is a good, well thought out CHR like WMEE used to be, or the Killer Bee.

Something that hits the streets, has a lot of fun, great personalities, lots of music, etc.

Well let me rephrase myself...I'm not suggesting that WRSW try to make a push to Fort Wayne. What I was thinking (and didn't type in) was: why can't a station LIKE WRSW make some waves in FW?? And if somebody tries, can I get on the air?? I want to be Fort Wayne's Johnny Fever.

BOOGER!!! ;D

It doesn't help, either, when "showprep" generally consists of downloading clips from last night's "American Idol" (or whatever show happens to be airing at that moment) so the morning crew can argue about who should have been voted off.

I've been saying just this for years and no one has been able to do it yet. Rather, no one's taken the chance on it. It just seems like no one wants to try a format that's not rock based or hip hop. A CHR could work in Fort Wayne if it's imaged properly, not programmed to some consultant's list and visible. But, I guess spending the money to pull it off is out of the question.

Can I get another "AMEN!" I've worked for PD's who turned twelve shades of purple if the morning show didn't mention Idol (or whatever show women like) every half hour. Cookie cutter radio. They all sound the same. Jocks used to do more than just talk about entertainment. They used to BE the entertainment. We'll have no more of that!

Wow.........this is better than GROUP.

Women is where the $$ is at and we all know it -- at least for all the CHR/AC stations....ALL OF THESE NUMBERS ARE FOR WOMEN ONLY!

WJFX--huge drops in almost all demos (BIGGEST LOSER)?
WNHT--good gains in all ages but the older demo
