FW book

No info on this? Who got kissed, and whom did not?

Just curious

K105 rocked. Great job, guys.

And Majic had a terrible book.

Whatever happened to Majic 95.1? When I was in Fort Wayne, Majic was consistantly #2 or #3 behind us at K105.

Now they're not even top 10?

What happened?

allaccess has the top five 12+: k105, 101.7, a tie with the bear and wowo, hot, and wmee.

the fort dropped over a point in 12+ and wshy should start under oasis with a benchmark of 1.7.

wgl continues strong at a 3.7 but i'm not sure what the fm simulcast might have added to that.

does anyone know how the new mega faired?

I don't think there's any surprises in the FWA book... a few numbers down, but the order hasn't changed much.

K105 reaching double digits in 12+ is noticeable. WXKE going from near invisible to beginning to gain respect is also something worth noting.

It seems like WAJI hasn't kept up with the times, not that any of FWA radio has, but there really isn't any difference between WAJI of 1987 and now... besides a slight change of music. Their morning jocks don't have the same likeability that Lee Tobin, Mark Evans and Barb Richards had back then.

Radio in Fort Wayne is a joke. Haven't you guys figured this out yet? It's probably the biggest market with small market mentality that you'll ever see.

The morning show on Majic sounds like every other hot ac morning show out there, in fact I'll even dare say that the AM shows on WMEE and Majic rip each other off on the regular. Hot and Wild... well, they're both too busy trying to sound like each other too. Hot is just terriable. Please, can we get a new contest instead of the same one with new curtains each time? "We keep doing it because it works" is an excuse. Pure and simple: It's laziness and admitting that you're not creative enough to come up with something else (in fact I would wager that they didn't even come up with it). If a properly programmed, staffed and marketed CHR/Pop came into the market it would clean the clocks of both Wild and Hot and probably take some numbers from WMEE and WAJI along with them. That is, assuming people in the market are smart enough to actually indicate the correct station in their diary.

You can almost rest assured that Oldies coming back strong was another fluke. Nowhere else does an oldies station do so well. Wouldn't surprise me if people who were listening to Wild wrote down Oldies' calls because they thought they were Wild's.

Bottom line, nothing to write home about. Based on the numbers I'd say radio in Fort Wayne continues to be just as stale as the day I left.
