Fybush on The Radio Racket

This week on The Radio Racket, we're going to be chatting it up with Scott Fybush. Scott runs fybush.com, which is home to the North East Radio Watch.
We plan to talk to Scott about what's going on in the business this week, as well as a favorite topic of his, tower sites. Should be a fun and interesting conversation.

We will be taking your calls, and you can always feel free to e-mail us any questions you have for Scott.

Hope you can check us out this Friday night (8/4) at 10pm at www.radioracket.com!

Hy Lit is pleased to announce that he will carry a special simulcast of ‘The Radio Racket show’ this Friday at 10pm EDT over HyLitRadio.com, for the Scott Fybush interview.
“HyLitRadio is particularly pleased to team up again with George Brusstar, Kyle DeWitt, and Roscoe Browning, for another thrilling interview program and peek inside broadcasting.”....Say's Hy

Kyle: Mr. Fybush is a good choice for a guest. I applaud you guys for getting him on the show. I know I have said that I wouldn't and don't listen to your show, however having Mr. Fybush on may actually get me listen to this program. Is he going to be on right at 10:00 (or during that first hour), or at some other point in the show?

Scott will more than likely join us around 10:30pm and probably will be on until Midnight. I think you'll enjoy the show Shawn. It's very different than how I think you're envisioning it.

We're happy to once again be working with Hy and Sam Lit and bringing the Fybush interview to you via both websites. HyLitRadio.com will begin picking up our feed right after the VOA news, and will carry the entire interview.

Fybush is to be admired...especially when he upholds the lowly and humble in the biz as he did several years ago with his tower site tribute to Stanley Coning of "Radio Ranch 1130" WCTM Eaton,OH (now WBZI repeater WEDI) I've known Stanley for many years and he is truly a plain, simple, non complicated and humble individual in a greedy,self-seeking Clear Channel world.

The show has shown improvement over the last several weeks, it hasn't been as choppy , train wreck conversations, squabble over who will be sitting in the third chair or other personal trivial conversations that has little to do with what the concept of Radio Racket is about. I think deleting the third guy has something to do with more of let's get down to the topics and then have fun with them afterwards.
It's developing into a slow format of it's own with developing bits like Julius feature, RJ , but there's sometimes a few unwanted interruptions when the flow is going good and then get's steered in a different direction when you wanted to here the rest of what George was trying to explain as a n example. Plus fixing a few technical things, (yes it's Internet) but it's always better to come out professional as best you can.
Guest conversations too have been steady and tighter as far as getting to their point of their careers and knowledge of the business.

Thanks for the comments apco. Our show, like any show I guess, is a work in progress. When something isn't working, we try to change it up.
The Radio Racket is different than the old Radio Radio Show. We're trying to find the balance between information and entertainment. No disrespect to anyone, but we aren't doing a show for total radio geeks. The old show talked more about towers, call letters, engineering, etc. We're doing some of that, but the main focus is on what's going on in the business and talking to the principle players.
As for the flow of the show, it's something we talk about often. We do get side-tracked at times, especially George (I think he would agree). My job is to try to reel him back in and finish what he was talking about.
Some of the technical problems, as you stated, are a product of the medium. As for other technical issues, we do this show as a labor of love and get things taken care of when we can.
The show will be evolving again in a few weeks when Roscoe leaves for the Mid-West. For a couple of weeks, it's just going to be George and I. Not sure what we're going to do after that. Maybe we'll have a Radio Racket Idol contest...
Thanks again for the comments about the show. We're always interested in hearing what you like and what you don't like. None of us are above constructive criticism! Thanks for listening!
