Fybush: Where WEEI simulcasts will air

http://www.fybush.com/nerw.html

Portland ME: ESPN sports gets replaced with WEEI on WLAM 1470 and WLVP (the former prog talker) 870.
Fybush speculates Sox could move there at end of contract with the big JABbers.

Laconia: WEMJ 1490

Upper valley: WTSV 1230 Claremont and WNHV 910 W.R.J.

Add Cape Cod's PIXY 103 and you have 6 of the 11 stations, but what about Montpelier,
Concord NH, and Augusta ME?

I'm sure WSNO-AM 1450 will carry WEEI. Don't they carry the Yankee Games currently ? I can't see WIKE in Newport going to WEEI ? What about some of the Lower Ct. Valley simultcasts taking on WEEI like 96.3 in Walpole NH which gets somewhat into Brattleboro and Keene. What's Nassau's weakest station in Concord NH ? Fybush had a great read on this today.

I suspect Nassau's weakest Concord Station is WWHK/Hawk 102.3 which has underperformed compared to it's Lakes Region counterpart (Hawk 101.5). Nassau does not own 102.3 but I'm sure their LMA with Vox would permit a switch to the WEEI format.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Dennis & Callahan were replaced by Don Imus? ;)

Someone, BrightonBoris I think, on the Boston board wondered if Entercom might keep Howie
on WRKO and a re-launched Imus could go to WTKK. Nothing settled yet with HC or D&C for
that matter...

You have 2 sports stations in augusta: Fox Sports Maine, CC's Fox sports station and rim-shot ESPN affiliate WSKW in Skowhegan. I could see Stephen King's WZON joining the network (I doubt they'd drop the local morning or afternoon shows), long time Sox affiliate and all they talk about is the Sox on the local shows

Actually I'm not sure if Augusta was to be one of the markets to pick up the WEEI simulcast or not. Acc
to the Nassau site, one of the ones they are changing is WLAM in Lewiston--which is about 36 mi from
Augusta acc. to Yahoo maps--is Lewiston consider part of Augusta market? (Is it kind of half way between
Portland and Augusta?)

It's its own radio marker, #280, although it's only got a few stations in market (WCYI, WTHT and the 1470 signal are about the only commercially licensed stations in the market, otherwise it's Augusta/Portland hangovers)

Well, Nassau's least powerful station in Concord is actually 105.5 WJYY if you go by watts; it only has 1500 of em'. But, 99.1 WNNH (part of Nassau's Oldies 99.1 and 104.9 combination) has just 2800 watts and is from Henniker, NH (about 20 minutes west of Concord). But I think the WEEI simulcast will ultimately go to 102.3 WWHK (THE HAWK), as 101.5 WWHQ (WWHK's lakes region simulcast) covers most of the market anyways. And, there is also already a classic rock station out of Manchester (96.5 THE MILL WMLL, which I must say is a lot better than THE HAWK), so Concord could just listen to 96.5 if they can't get 101.5 in, but they should be able to. Also, a WEEI simulcast on 102.3 would allow the station to be able to compete in the Manchester market, where it has no share of the market at all (I remeber it scored like a .4 maybe a year ago). WWHK comes in quite good in Manchester, and, with WEEI-AM scoring a 1.8 in the Manchester market, many of its listeners would probably move to listening to it on FM.

For the record WNNH'S tower is in Contoocook which brings it's signal a little closer to Concord than it's previous tower on Pat's Peak in Henniker. WWHK does not have a good signal in Manchester, it's listenable in the Northern part of the market but that's about it.

If Nassau were interested primarily in generating Manchester ratings for Spotrs Radio they'd probably go with WJYY (105.5) which historically has the best ratings in Manch Vegas of any Concord Lakes region stations. Despite the fact that Manchester metro CHR listeners can easily get the format on WJMN and WXKS out of Boston, 'JYY has always been able to maintain a decent shaRE IN mANCHESTER.
