Channel 7 have just announced Pete Bouchard as Todd Gross' official replacement. The memo (which is very telling) may be found at BTVN.net

UPDATE: 4:55am Tuesday You may find brief statements from Todd Gross and Randy Price on the front of the BTVN MSN page.
Edited by BostonTVMan on 12/13/05 09:58 AM.

But six or seven years hence, he too could get dismissed amid controversy and get replaced by another young (and lower-paid) forecaster from the morning or weekend shifts.

Hopefully, Pete Bouchard will have many successful years at WHDH-7 and be so good that people will forget about Dr. Fred Ward, Harvey Leonard, and Todd Gross.

his first 6o'clock cast as a chief met had its big glitch.
he wasn't able to do the 6:15 wx segment because his computers had
crashed and were in the middle of a reboot. when they came from the break,
they threw it over to joe amo at fenway for sports. pete was ready
by the time joe got done with sports five minutes later. one
of those things. pete just shook it off like it was no big deal.
the guy is cool under pressure.

Uh oh,
Sounds like sabotage to me!

Randy Simon noted:

That will come in handy when he must go on the air to ad-lib forecasts and updates during live coverage of future major storms (whether they be blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, or whatever). It's a skill that could help set him apart from "the pack" (read: other TV weather forecasters).
