Sorry, Ape. We'll get back to talking about how great radio was 40 years ago and which boss jock just died. Didn't mean to offend you.

WOW! Isn't Jay "Truckin'" Thomas the best?

(Is that better?)

Radio was better than great 40 years ago and "The Ape" was part of it! WLS, WNOE, KLIF, WCFL, WIXY1260, CKLW and that is just a minor scratch of the surface. There were no computers and many had no cart machine but they could blew the doors off these so called CHR stations today. Nuffsaid!

Goat, Jay was never "Trucking"! He was "The King of the City" "Tom Miller at WBT in Charlotte Overnight was "Trucking"! Gessh!

Thanks "Nuff Said".. And that's the was it was !!!!!

BIG APE

I really do hate to jump in on one of these shifted subject topics that are so common here, but the board's running a little dry lately, so no one's likely to notice. I do clearly recall an early 70s Bill Drake drop on WAPE that said:

"Jayyyyy Thomas (explosion SFX), keeps on truckin'!"... so while Jay was never Truckin' Thomas, it was close.

Uhhh, to my memory which is fading, I don't recall ANY Drake anything at APE, but i will confur with Jay and Boo Baron and Grease.. Hell, I only live 28 miles from Sis Kaplan.. I'll ask her at church!
