G. Gordon Liddy Dies at 90

After his time in prison for his role in Watergate, he found an entirely new career as a radio talk show host.

I met him once and found him to be a charming guy. Even though at the time, he was packing a gun under his jacket.

RIP, G Man. His radio show was on a station where I lived in the mid-90s and I listened to it almost daily. While I didn't always agree with his opinions, outside of politics he did have some interesting interviews, banter with callers and at least when I was listening to him, he was jovial and laughed...It wasn't the "old angry white guy" on the radio belting out his political viewpoints.

I agree...it wasn't as much about politics as it was about life. He was just an interesting guy with an interesting point of view. You wanted to hear about Mrs. Liddy even though you didn't know her. A real character and bon vivant in the true sense of the word.

When Mark Felt identified himself as Deep Throat, the one person I wanted to talk to was the G Man.

When I was the Director of Engineering for WQYK-FM and AM, G. Gordon did his radio show from our studios on a couple of occasions. RIP, Mr. Liddy.

I never saw her in any interviews (I believe she died in 2010) but one must admit that she must've been a saint, lol. As mentioned, I enjoyed his radio show a lot, but as for his wife, he stated that all the guns in the house (and there were LOTS) were registered to her since he couldn't own any due to his criminal record. The G. Man was caught and reprimanded for running a federal background check on her before they were married, which he later said was simply a routine procedure, and considering some of the things he thought up and suggested doing to the Dems when he worked for Nixon, my guess is that she must have had her hands full at times. :)

That said, from what I recall she was very well educated and actually had a career of her own, even before it became more common for women to have professional lives outside the house.

Where I lived we had a station playing good music and it switched to talk show hosts including Liddy. I don't know whether there were any others that carried him but this was a small town. The Liddy that was more interesting to people in this town was the wife of presidential candidate Bob Dole. There was a big headline "Giddy over Liddy" when they thought would be a great first lady.
