G Rock Retro Weekend: Starting Friday at 3 PM

For the first time in about a year in a half, G Rock is doing a Retro Weekend starting at 3 PM on Friday.

The station has become surprisingly good (just about as good as a commercial Alternative in the Northeast can get these days, I suppose) in recent months - they have been spot on with the retro cuts and the newer tracks, and it's enough to make you forget that they play Linkin Park about 16 times a day (well, almost).

In the past the Retro Weekends have been excellent, and you never know what to expect from G Rock when they have it. I for one expect to be tuned in quite a bit over the next few days.

Do they spin the new paramore crushcrushcrush and the shiney toy guns, it seems 1045 will not touch those two great tracks...I am outta range and cannot grab G-rock...

That'll be worth logging. Good on 'em. Just in time for the Melody Bar reunion in New Brunswick tomorrow, too.

('Course, I do it every Friday at altrokradio.com - plug, plug - but I'm flexible. My showcase is on tonight at 90.5 The Night; let's see how long it takes those tracks to show up on 106.3...)

I have been streaming since 3......The retro weekend sounds incredible......kudos to Grock for playing great music that people actually want to hear......my only negative.....station out of single range for me......do they pick the music played? I will be either driving south or streaming alot this weekend....there is nothing like it in north jersey....

Where can I find more Melody reunion details?

And good for them! I like when they do this, because it brings back memories. I have Scott Lowe on now and it sounds great. He just played Dead or Alive and The Ramones.
