G...WJXN is no longer Hot

After a little more than two months of being Hot, Flinn Broadcasting's WJXN has rebranded itself as G100.9.

It seems Alpha Media is leasing WJXN (G100.9).

But Alpha already owns six stations (i.e., three FMs and three AMs) in Jackson. Can they acquire--or even lease--a seventh station?

  • WJMI (99 Jams)
  • WJNT (NewsTalk 1180/96.9)
  • WJQS (1400 AM/106.3 The Fan)
  • WKXI (Kixie 107)
  • WOAD (Gospel 1300/103.5)
  • WRKS (105.9 The Zone)
 
Sure they can. They can own up to 4 FM stations and 3 AM stations (or vice-versa) in a market the size of Jackson, Ms. Leasing is another matter, but they are still under the limit.

Don't know. I noticed that they weren't on. But seems like I heard one of them on earlier in the week talking about social security.
