Gail Shister Speaks Out On Alyzsazsa Lane

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jEn8Pbipg_yg92ABCwF2AevckVpgD8TM111G0

"She's been seen much more by the media in the light of a glamour girl than as a journalist," said Gail Shister, a longtime TV columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer. "She didn't do much to dissuade that notion..."

Shister is not optimistic about Lane's chances for keeping her job.

"To quote my old friend Dan Rather, her chances are slim and none - and slim just left town," Shister said.

As long as we talking about lapses of journalistic ethics here, "my old friend Dan Rather!" This is about as bad as Alycia calling the governor. Rather was somebody Shister covered ("Gunga Dan") and often promoted in her column. Maybe the Inquirer should give her an early vacation, too.
