First of all, I didn't mess up. I don't even work for the company in question. I haven't even worked in the State of New York in close to five years. But as a traffic manager with over a dozen years experience in markets large and small, from mom and pop operations to large national corporations, I can tell you that these things happen EVERYWHERE from time to time. And 9 times out of ten it is NOT the fault of the traffic department if an outdated spot or promo runs. Most of those who work in traffic, myself included, are perfectionists when it comes to our job. We also spend a great deal of time covering our asses with a paper trail so that an error such as the one you described can be traced back to the source, wherever that may be. You are right about one thing, though. There are no excuses for what happened, only explanations. What will be done to prevent it from happening again will show the difference between a good GM and a warm body collecting a GM's paycheck. Just my two cents. Have a nice day.
