Galveston dumps Cox and picks up Cumulus and CC

Now instead of older disgustingly drunk people displaying all kinds of lewd behavior at Mardi Gras, you'll have younger disgustingly drunk people doing the same thing. Whatever.

C'Mon, who are you kidding? Galveston didn't dump anyone. Cox just refused to pay the ante to get in again. Cox could have come back if they ponied up the loot. It's not about demographics, it about bucks. Always has been, always will be.

I agree with the old saying money talks, bullshit walks, but glad that Galveston has dropped Cox or Cox dropped Galveston and is going with two companies that will put a lot of effort promoting Madri Gras, while Cox has sat on the their ass forever and let four good FM stations get staler rhan one would think possible. I'm sure Cox would put the same effort into any Madri Gras promotion and programming.

The exception being the reimaging of KLDE which I feel is excellent and applaud Cox for finally doing something with one of their stations. Would really like to see Cox sell to someone who will complete what was started, Country Legends and dump a format that should have been gone years ago The Point.
