First off... I came across this story on YAHOO, sorry RG, and I simply had to share it. I just found it extremely funny that KCBD felt that they needed to post this on their website. With that being said, you know who your demo is when you have to do something like this.

In other news...

I simply found this article or statement funny. It's not because it's GAP... it's just because it's total BS from an industry that preaches one thing but does the total opposite.

Gap West's Yakima, Washington cluster will be run by Cheryl Salamone

The move by Gap West to bring in Salamone to run its Yakima group allows her to come home, as she ran the same six-station group in 2000-2004, when the stations were owned by Clear Channel. Salamone tells the Yakima Herald-Republic newspaper, “We will go back to being more involved in the community and offering a better product for our listeners.” Salamone replaces David Roederer, who recently resigned. Gap West owns KIT-AM (980), KUTI-AM (1460), KDBL-FM “The Bull” (92.9), KATS-FM (94.5), KQMY-FM “My” (99.3) & KFFM-FM (107.3).

She has that whole "COMMUNITY FIRST" BS down. George did good. However, maybe she believes what she is saying and simply hasn't had a talk with George yet... about what GAP really does. ** insert evil laugh here... and her **

We ran into the same problem years ago in Austin when severe weather pre-empted the exciting conclusion of a wedding episode of Northern Exposure. After getting a lot of flack from viewers, we ran the missed :60 ending as the kicker on our 10pm news the following night. BTW-- In the scene the bride tossed the bouquet and everyone shuffled away so it wouldn't touch them. Typical Northern Exposure.
