Garrett Michaels Out at KBZT

It's really unbelievable what has happened in SD: It is not a cookie cutter market. 91X with Halloran on board is kicking ass. New Pennywise into 311 is what I just heard there late on a Saturday night; just right. I love how some armchair wannabe PDs proclaim "boring is better" but everywhere Halloran goes whether that be 94.9 or 91X he kicks ass in the ratings PPM or otherwise by playing cool music, not the alterna top 40. I'm not sure he is programming 91X so those comments can be taken with a grain of salt. But the facts are that 94/9 is getting waxed and rightly so; they are running a format that would succeed in Dubuque, IA because it would be the only game in town --- not in San Diego; it is just amazing how non artistic some of these stations have become. 94/9 of all stations, lol.

KBZT is up dramatically since Callahan took over as PD. Christy Wilson programs 91X, not Halloran.
 
Christy Taylor? And I wouldn't say drastically changed but it is going in the right direction as they play more mainstream alternative.

Sorry yes... Christy Taylor. 91X has been trending well for almost two years. KBZT needed to do something. Both were up in discreet demos in July as was KIOZ.
 
Christy makes the decisions there along with Robin. They, for the most part keep that old sled between the lines and interesting. Big ProPs to them, don't forget, like so many others in town, voice tracking is utilized to get the most bang for you buck. ie Afternoons and weekends. And that's what most everyone else does too so their not alone!

Do less with more!
