Garry Meier on WCKG ???

So, does anybody have the inside scoop on Feeder's column today?

Would Garry be hosting a show by himself or is going to be someone's sidekick?

God, I hope he is a sidekick. He can not do it alone!
 
The way things go with WCKG, they probably won't have a sidekick for him. My suggestion would be for him to choose a co-host named Steve, so this show could be promoted as "Steve & Garry" on WCKG. Even if some would go on to say this idea would be misleading, it would be a way to actually, gulp, get people to tune into WCKG.

And if they don't come back, it would not be due to the "Steve & Garry" thing - it would be because they didn't like what they did hear.

It's not too late for drastic measures to keep CKG from being a waste of one of the strongest FM signals in the country.
 
This just goes to show you that there's a job for everyone and everyone for a job. Garry Meier on his own--almost worth the listen.

If this happens I can get rid of my XM - I mostly listen between 11 and 2 - cause there's nothing to listen to locally.

The Stan and Terry Show is the only show I listen to on WCKG. Everything else is dull.
 
It’s official. I happened to hear on the Steve Dahl show that the deal is done, and Garry starts on Monday. From what I heard, the new lineup will be Opi and Anthony from 5 to 8. Garry with Jim /Torono, or something like that, will be on from 8 to 11. Stan and Terri will be on from 11 to 2. After Steve’s show, his son Matt and Brenden will be on from 7 to 9. The syndicated Glen Beck will air from 9 to midnight. I don’t know anything about the over nights, but there you go!
 
WCKG sent out an e-mail within the past hour about their new lineup, confirming the reports about O & A being live until 8 AM and Dahl's son being moved to 2 hours and at night.

Guess this means they're sticking with this format, at least for a few months, after all.

Great to hear Garry again. I have to think that a reunion with Dahl is down the road. The impromptu show that they did last August was proof that the two are still very good together. Still, it's too bad that he couldn't make things work with Roe at WLS.

Today's show was awfully good. Especially considering the guy has been off the air for almost 3 years. It's great to hear real radio talent anymore. There is not a whole lot out there. Now if we could just get Kev back in Chicago!
