Garth Brooks To Add Sports

Garth Brooks & TuneIn launched their current country channel The Big 615 in June. Tomorrow, he will announce his second streaming channel that will focus on sports:

Not exactly what he teased or what was expected. Not as if there isn't already a lot of streaming sports channels.

The announcement was made at Kauffmann Stadium in Kansas City. He calls it Tailgate Radio:

The main host will be former NBC and ESPN host Maria Taylor

Looking at the recently played list, this is not a country music station. It's high energy cross-genre music:

Very similar to the music mix that SiriusXM puts on a pop-up channel every year around Super Bowl time.

Garth Brooks has added a third channel to his TuneIn station. It's a revival of his Garth channel that was previously on Sirius:

This is the third of what will be 7 radio stations that will appear on TuneIn.

BTW Garth also announced he's releasing a new album on November 7 called Time Traveler. The first single is a duet with Ronnie Dunn. Sort of a variation on Brooks & Dunn :)

Ronnie's 70 years old, Garth is 61. Good luck to either in getting anything current on country radio, which is already showing signs of pushing 40-somethings like Dierks Bentley and Carrie Underwood toward the exits.

Also, it seems this new album will be available, at least initially, only at Bass Pro Shops and only as part of a box set. No Pandora, no Spotify, no YouTube, as is standard procedure for Garth. I know he's set for life, but still, how much money is he leaving on the table with these exclusive sales and streaming deals of his? Does he get enough kickback from the various outlets he grants these exclusives to to make up for what he loses by bypassing widespread distribution?

He has a deal with Amazon too. The Limited Series is for a limited time, thus the name. I'm sure the album will be at Amazon at some point.

I just noticed that Garth has hired Big Machine to represent and promote this new single to country radio. Big Machine is also promoting the new Toby Keith song, "Don't Let The Old Man In."

Speaking of Garth & sports, he just announced that he will do a live concert as part of the Thursday Night Football on Amazon.

I wouldn't be shocked if sometime during that concert, he promotes the new album for sale in December at Amazon.
Is Twitch free or subscription-based? Does it require registration to use? I'd rather not have an Amazon Prime account but definitely want to hear Garth's new single before radio stations here or The Highway (SiriusXM) add it, as well as any other new material he may introduce at the TNF concert.

The song won't be available until Monday. I think Garth's channel on TuneIn is free with no registration.

When I tried listening via TuneIn.com on Thu. 11/9, the "Garth Channel Loop" introductory message was still playing from the announcement date.

However...:) via direct streaming URLs the channel is available (copy + paste links in to media players).
