WPRI's news director moves to Hartford station

PROVIDENCE, R.I. --Television station WPRI's news director is stepping down to take a post at a Hartford station.
Gary Brown will move to WFSB, a CBS affiliate in Hartford, the Rhode Island station announced Tuesday.
Brown began at WPRI in August 2001. Previously, he worked as a news director in Toledo, Ohio.
The station says while at WPRI, Brown introduced the Eyewitness News brand, expanded the 10 p.m. news to one hour, and expanded weekday morning news coverage to two hours.
He also launched weekend morning news and dealt with major news events from the Plunder Dome trial to the West Warwick nightclub fire.
Brown's last day at WPRI is Friday.
