Gary Coleman Getting A Divorce On "Divorce Court"

There is a televangelist couple here in Atlanta (Juanita Bynum and Thomas Weeks) that have been in the news ad-nauseum because of an incident where he was arrested for assulting her in a hotel parking lot. They are now appearing on "Divorce Court" to end their marriage (in a two-parter nonetheless).

I guess they are desperate for ratings, and are seeking high profile cases now.

I saw this show this week and it was dealing with a couple that was divorcing because her husband was beating up on her and Juanita Bynum was on the show talking to Lynn Toler in the judge's chambers about her experience with her now ex-husband and what she went through about her abusive relationship and she was there for moral support. Thomas Weeks wasn't even on the show at all.

This is the first time that I know of that an actor has filed for divorce in all places on TV. I know that I have seen higher profile people on court shows before, Johnny Rotten of The Sex Pistols on Judge Judy comes to mind when he was suing a club owner I believe.

Are you sure this isn't one of those 1980s Family Guy flashback jokes?

You know, This is worse than the time Gary Coleman was on Divorce Court.

Tony Dow was once on the original People's Court as a witness, I think.

I still can't believe someone married Gary Coleman.

...I've seen pix of her. Moderately attractive redhead. Nowadays Gary looks as if he's a roadhouse Delta Blues singer who got shrunk by a Voodoo priestess for not paying his soul to a certain party with horns and a pitchfork...

Coolio, Ike Turner, and Rick James have appeared in cases tried before Judge Joe Brown:

Is Judge Joe Brown even a real judge?

Joe Brown is a real judge, but is he for real? ???

Joe Brown was a real judge in Memphis who was known for unusual penalties, like letting the victim of a robbery take something from the convicted defendant's house. He was still serving as a judge in Memphis for a while even after he started his TV show. He was eventually voted out though, probably because people thought he was spending too much time in LA doing his show rather than in Memphis.

I can't wait for him to say

"Wha'cha talkin' 'bout judge?"

:)

That'll be his appeal to a verdict. Just those words and nothing more. :D
