GARY CRAIG WILL NOT BE RENEWED AT 965 TIC

I will cry no tears of sorrow over this. Though I do not wish anyone bad things, he's been over for years AND he's not a nice person. (I'm being nice in my phrasing of this so this response is not removed from the board.) You should never leave a knife around him because your back could be next. Thankfully he never had the chance to throw me under the bus, but he threw several friends under it.
 
Doesn't he go back to 1981 with them? (Not counting the stint he had with WKSS-FM in the mid-1990s.) All I will say is it's about damn time! Other than maybe Damon Scott, who would take over the morning show? Does this have anything to do with the recent cuts by CBS Hartford? (Dana gone at WTIC-FM and being replaced by the syndicated Billy Bush show being a good example of that.)

Personally, I'd like to see a Damon Scott morning show. I think it has potential.
 
I know personally that Damon has been trained and grommed to repalce Gary for several years.
Here's the question....Will Gary get a gig in CT?
I bet he replaces Jerry Kristafer on WDRC.

I can't think of any other place for him.

When I worked in 2004 he was never showed up at station functions unless he was paid quite a bit of money.
 
he's screwed. he'll never be able to get that type of paycheck again, esp not in CT, and i highly doubt he can take his library of phony phones to another market and be successful. i'm also pretty sure he pissed most of his cash away. looks like another lawsuit will be in the works for the missus.
 
Hey video-that's exactly the same story when I worked there. If they wanted him to show up at a station function, he had to be paid a lot for it. He never even showed up at the Christmas parties (before they were called Holiday parties, as I know he's Jewish and... so am I, but I showed up). John even hates him, but he sucks up to him because he wants to keep his gig. You wouldn't believe what John Elliott used to say about Gary when he Gary was gone. He used to also suck up to Kelly and Kline when they were there. Gary actually used to talk badly about me hoping that my now husband wouldn't marry me. Good thing my hub knew what he was like and knew me a hell of a lot longer than hew knew Gary. Gary didn't think I was good enough for him. I guess you COULD call that trying to throw me under the bus...personally. I remember the day Gary had to clean out his desk after he was let go. Ahhh, those were the days. But then there was Larry Wachs. A truly nice guy personally, but an ass of an air talent when it came to doing what he should for the station. That's because Tom Mitchell let him get away with things because he worked with him at WPXY in Rah-cha cha. Damon and Learjet filling in were funnier than Larry Wachs and Eric Haessler. Good Luck to Damon. He's a very nice guy and such a devoted father. That is the essence of a great person. He always talked about his kid with such pride and was always there when his kid was doing something at school.
 
Let's not forget that he does his we are the children christmas party...
Don't get me wrong I too think he is normally a selfish ego driven mad man BUT the one event he does annually does make a difference in many less fortunate childrens lives.
Now....having said that I do believe he uses that event to generate ratings,,,,and also used it to get a job at WKSS after he was originally fired from TIC.
Will he use it again to find a job?
Will it work with WDRC???? I know Jerry Kristafer does NOT have a contract.
Some interesting things could be comming along this holiday seasen.

Craig has a great voice but it's been the same old shtick for 20 years. GM of CBS of Hartford Suzanne McDonald has put up with his bs for years. He thinks he's god's gift to morning radio. The numbers don't lie and it's time for him to ride off into the radio sunset.
DRC would never hire Gary C. Especially for the $300k he wants a year. And that's a conservative estimate.

Damon S is a hundred times funnier than Gary C but will he want to wake up at 330am 5 days a week. Maybe For $400k a year and plenty of perks....stay tuned ;D
 
CBS RADIO IS IN MASSIVE DEBT. DAMON WILL BE LUCKY IF HE CAN GET A HUNDRED A YEAR. GUYS, RADIO IS NOT THE SAME AS IT WAS 10 YEARS AGO. THE PAY HAS GONE DOWN 200 PERCENT

Clearly you have not seen the Hartford numbers....Gary actually had a GREAT book.
I'm not defending him...He will be cut loose eventually but, get your facts right.
You tend to spread misinformation on these boards a lot.
Gary's numbers are the ONLY reason he has lasted so long.
God knows Suzane (the GM) would have tossed him long ago if his show didn't make money.
Yes he is a complete tool who hasn't done one original thing in 10 or more years BUT...Let's keep the facts correct.
He is slowly slipping and eventually will FAIL.
