Gary D. (period) Gilbert

He was on WPKX-AM-FM (Then known as KIX-Country 106 [@ 730 and 105.9]) in northern Virginia during the mid-1980s, leaving there right about 1985 or so. Sometime after that he went to (I believe 3WE [now WTAM]) in Cleveland sometime afterward. He was quite a-shall we say-firecracker particularly when he was on KIX.

He was Gary Dee on the air in Cleveland and had a No. 1 morning talk show for a while in the 1970's. He died in 1995 at 59 or 60 years old.

Thanks for the info. I can't say I'm surprised. I knew he was having heart trouble when he left Washington.
