Gary Kinnsey

Does anyone know what Gary Kinnsey who was on Atlanta radio forever, first at WSB,then at Kicks and Eagle up to these days? I know he retired in 2006 a few months before Kicks and Eagle were sold to Citadel. Hope he is doing well,he was another true treasure of Atlanta radio that is sadly gone from the air waves.

Gary wisely jumped off the sinking ship at just the right time and is enjoying his life after radio. I always enjoyed my daily talks with him. You could always count on him to do a solid days work.

Agreed, Garry was the nicest man in radio ever. Always worked hard, always had a kind word. Check out his old pictures of 96 Rock on the GRHOF website. And yeah, he spells his name with two 'r's used to drive him nuts that nobody got that right. haha

Gary was a consummate professional both on and off-the-air and someone that I will forever look up to. You couldn't always see his smile, but you could always hear it through your speakers. He was truly the personification of what "Talent" should be.

My Grandmother is good friends with his Mother and Father, and I hear that he is enjoying life as a retired Atlanta Radio Personality. Well deserving of his successful retirement!!!

Garry is a very kind man and did a lot of work for me on the side over the years. I will say that his air-shift, while professional, was pretty mundane. Neil wouldn't let him off the leash, I guess, but Bill Celler was able to inject a little personality when he was doing Kicks mid-days - and still keep his job. Sandy Weaver was also a nice change when she subbed in. Gotta say Garry rode the country wave as well as anyone at either station in the 90s....

I agree,he is a nice man when you met him he talked to you like you had been next door neighbors for the last 20 years.

Beswides bening on country radio how many of u guys remember gary on WFOM 1230 when it was a top 40 station ,done a great job there,to bad stations dont sound like the old hay days,OMG im telling my age now lolll. He also did a good job as station mgr of the old 1600 WACX in austell.

I didn't realize you guys were that close of friends.hmmmmmmmmmm Anyway while Citadel is not doing well as a whole,(like all the other radio companies) WYAY is enjoying better ratings than it EVER had when it was Y-106 OR EAGLE 106.7 which was just moving the deck chairs around on THAT sinking ship. True Oldies was the best thing to happen to 106.7

There's a LOT you don't know Al. For instance you might want to check back a few years when Eagle first signed on and had a 3.8. Kind of doubt T.O. got that high even on their first book. The ship was sinking because they LET it sink. Trust me, I know the real story.

You stand corrected.

And so begins another Restraining Order in Fulton County Court.

BTW, congrats on finding spell check, now we need to work on your run-on sentences and punctuation.

A semicolon or other punctuation might be welcome in this sentence too, NM ;)
