Gary Nolan?

Word is that former Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Nolan, who has been doing afternoons at KSSZ (the Eagle 93.9) in Columbia, MO for the past couple years is headed to Syracuse. He's already said his goodbyes on the Eagle but has not revealed where he's going yet. Anyone? Anyone?

Is this the guy that was in Minneapolis and Long Island for years? Now Syracuse talk fans will have a choice. It seems like Reith is about to have more issues than just being Congel and Delmonicos flunky!
With the management firings about to happen, and now this, Plum Street is a mess.

I'm not sure of everywhere he's been, but I seem to remember hearing he had a nationally syndicated show at one time. I also seem to remember hearing he worked in Cleveland for a bit. I used to work at the Zimmer compound in Columbia. I'll try to see if any of my friends who are still there are willing to talk.

They Should take after NJ 1015

sometimes i make my way down to good ol' trenton and listen to New Jersey 101.5. during the week they do talk and on the weekends they play music. they brand it as 'on the weekends, the music comes out to play'. with a soon to be new fm talker here in syracuse maybe they should give this a try.

Agreed on NJ 101.5. I'm from that neck of the woods originally and they do an incredible job of merging the two formats. They have the added burden of being "between markets", thus their "Not New York, Not Philadelphia" positioning statement. Plus, from a listeners standpoint, it seems every time you turn on the station during the weekends, you're hearing "Big Joe Henry", with all the old school corny jokes and sfx. Fun radio still exists in this country and I look forward to hearing them each time I get back there.

WTKS in Orlando has been doing this for years as well, but they are mostly local talk and much hipper.
If I were Citadel I'd try to find some sort of niche for weekends instead of talk "best-of's" and infomercials.

Yeah, but you've got to remember this is Citadel. Corporate needs all the cash those weekend infomercials provide. Times are tough!

Wasn't it Farid that put some of this stuff on WABC in New York not too many months ago? Got to grab the cash where ever he can, you know!

Pretty sure the Gary worked at WHEN in the early 90's. He was one of the first talkers that brought the Clinton corruption to public attention. Delmonico fired him at the end of his shift election day '94 when the Reps swept the mid terms.
