GARY PAPA HAS DIED

Very sad. He put up an inspirational fight. Heartfelt condolonces to his family for the loss of someone far too young.

Rest in peace, Gary. You left us far too soon.
Agree with you. He was the best sportscaster the city has ever had. He ranks right up there with Big Al, Lou Tilley, Ukee, Joe Pellegrino, etc.

Am I the only one who realized the irony of the holiday weekend in which he passed?

With that aside, thoughts and prayers to Mr. Papa.

No, many recognized that irony. And for Gary's sons, my heart breaks even more; losing my father close to father's day, I still feel that sadness a bit more sharply each year.
