Gary Shane on WMWM/Sun. morning

Gary Shane and the Detour will be doing a live interview and playing live tomorrow morning with Doug Mascott on Tracks of
the Town (Sun 9-noon, WMWM 91.7 Salem). Remember "Johnny's Coaltrain"?

UPDATE--he had a little trouble finding the place so he went on just after noon!

I interviewed Alan Goodrich from Alan and the Alligators last Sunday filling in
for Doug (and Alan played live)--was fun. Great that some smaller stations can
have an opportunity for bands to play live, even "unplugged"..

College Radio and streaming are the only places where creativity can flow.
Maybe satellite radio, but for how long? And Podcasts are a jungle.

Alligator and Shane have been on the scene for a very long time. It is a shame that WRKO or WBCN cannot donate time to foster even talk interviews with people who have insight and history.

They would rather let people "buy time" which pushes listeners away.

Remember when Tai had a WRKO show at night? He had some local
comedians and musicians on...
Anyway, it was fun having Alan Goodrich on to play live (solo guitar)

Doug told me the show went well.

Acoustic musician Ken Selcer might be up there next Sunday,
he's been around the scene for awhile.
