Gary Shore Passes Away at 55

Another Tulsa Television Icon Gone-
My friend and Tulsa's most headline making meteorologist has passed away at 55. Gary Shore was just 25 years old when we got to know each other back in 1979. I was upstairs on the radio and Gary was downstairs predicting the weather with unbelieveable accuracy when KVOO and Channel 2 News were in the same building on Peoria in Tulsa's upscale Brookside area. He was quite a guy. Gary Shore. People still know that name and remember how good that guy was.
My gosh, it seems like just 5 minutes ago Gary was sitting in my office. We were catching up on the latest in the broadcast community and what our plans were for the future. That really was just a couple of years ago. Gary was a deeply committed Christian. He lived his faith. Gary, like the rest of us, went through his trials and tribulations and he came out on top. He won the fight. Good show! I shall fondly remember Gary as part of Tulsa's rich broadcast history.
May God Rest His Soul and Comfort His Family.

Wow. This is surreal. I remember watching Gary all throughout my childhood. So young. He did more with his short time than many of us do who are given twice the time on earth.

So sorry to hear this news. I remember Gary Shore quite well. We will keep his family in our prayers.

As someone who is in television weather, Gary Shore was one of my idols growing up. I remember him doing updates on KRMG during the late 80s/early 90s, too. He had a special talent of predicting the weather, especially snow. One time, Gary accurately predicted 3" in Tulsa when the National Weather Service and the other stations were going flurries. I admire his passion both in weather and as a Christian. He will be missed :'(
